A Special Short Story featuring the Pizza Bros Characters!
While the Pizza Bros crew is safely barricaded away from the zombies, they do their best to pass the time and reflect on their lives and the choices they’ve made.
The inspiration for Part 4 of The Z.A.P.P.P Plan had us thinking what would you actually do in real life if you were being chased by zombies and made it to safety. What would you do to pass the time until it was safe to come out? That’s what we thought about for each character as we wrote the walk-in scenes.
Difficulties
The most difficult part of illustrating this episode was keeping Ed and Dennis’s cigarettes consistently slow burning until they were fully smoked. That really challenged me as a pixel artist. It’s a small detail that adds to flow and movement of the illustrations and story.
Also, continuously adding trash and debris inside the walk-in as the guys continued to camp out.
Comedy Writing and Pixel Art Coming Together
Thinking about what Steve, Ed, and Dennis would actually do while locked in the walk-in was hilarious. Then writing and illustrating it, and bringing it to life was fun.
Most Fun to Create
We laughed so hard writing the scene where Steve realizes that he needs to go to the bathroom, but can no longer just walk across the hall to go. Seriously, they wound up needing the pepperoncini bathroom bucket. LMAO!
