Finally! The Founder has been found! He has called a news conference to unveil his latest Pizza In-Ovation, the Pizza Tracker 3000! What will this mean for the Pizza Bros crew? Read to find out!
Once again, real life influences our comic book! We got these new car tracking toppers at work AND we worked with a guy who would actually stop in the middle of deliveries to go to the bathroom. We always wondered what took him so long. After we got the car trackers, we could actually see that he was parked for over 20 minutes once. When he got back to the store, the manager confronted him and he was forced to admit that he needed to “go” now!
Difficulties
Making the map in a pixel art style was very difficult. It forces you to think about curves differently. I also tried to base the map as much off of real life as I possible could.
Comedy Writing and Pixel Art Coming Together
In this chapter of Pizza Bros, we had to both create a stack of legal documents and pizza toppers. When we wrote this section, we described it as “sketchy” legal paperwork. Because once again, we, ourselves, had to sign documents that we described as sketchy legal documents. Of course, we signed it digitally. But if you printed it out, it would have been a stack as large as was illustrated in Pizza Bros.
Most Fun to Create
Ryan: For me, my favorite part of this entire chapter to create is where they think the computer glitches. And when they go to reboot it, it shuts down the entire comic book. I illustrate this by doing a blacked out scene.
Jessie: While what Ryan describes above was super funny to create, my favorite was illustrating Bill blushing. I thought it was cute and funny and mimicked real life perfectly.
