Uh oh, The Founder is at it again! In his latest Pizza Bros promotion craze, he will personally deliver your pizza to your house in his signature vehicle “The Buckin’ Bronc!”
A variation on this story may or may not (emphasis on MAY) have happened in real life. The Founder of the actual pizza chain that we worked for (who shall remain nameless) loved to show off his signature car in real life promotional stunts. We had an incident at our store where one of his stunts REALLY upset some local customers. So we decided to write our own version of the events at Pizza Bros.
Difficulties
Making the Buckin’ Bronc move and look like it was bucking was very difficult. Layering out the destruction of the Buckin’ Bronc was also very difficult. To make the Buckin’ Bronc move, I (Ryan) used 3 separate pixel art sprites: one for the truck itself and two for the wheels.
Comedy Writing and Pixel Art Coming Together
We seriously laughed so hard the entire time we were writing this! You have to understand that while we were writing the destruction caused by The Founder and the Buckin’ Bronc we were also picturing the Founder’s voice with his country/hillbilly accent, which made it twice as funny.
Most Fun to Create
The two scenes that were most fun to write and draw were 1) Steve and Dennis whispering to each other about The Founder height. And 2) The ending where everyone who just witnessed the Buckin’ Bronc’s destruction is just horrified. SO FUNNY!
