After The Z.A.P.P.P Plan debacle, Ed gets a surprise visit from the local health inspector and immediately falls in love with the “hot” health inspector.
In the past, health inspectors have typically been over-weight middle aged men who have worked in restaurants for decades before becoming a health inspector. Imagine our bewilderment when not only a woman walks in the door to perform a health inspection but a hot one! Even the real life “Jenny” was caught off guard. So, yes. This story has real life inspiration.
Difficulties
From a pixel art and consistency perspective, making sure Ed was blushing and sweating in all the correct scenes was the most difficult part of illustrating this episode.
Comedy Writing and Pixel Art Coming Together
In this episode, we wanted to tie into a previous episode and have this story be fall out from earlier decisions that where made by Ed and upper management. Hence, the health inspector shows up because Ed and Dennis smoked in the walk-in when they thought they were going to be eaten by zombies. Making sure to incorporate the flashback, helped us to tie together both episodes.
Most Fun to Create
Ed waking up from his love spell and realizing that he failed his health inspection was the most fun to create, including making his super cute pixel art heart eyes. It was also fun to illustrate the scene where Steve and Jenny compare Ed to a previous health inspector that is just Ed but old. Comedy.
